Sunscreens that are actually good for your skin.
✋Stop wasting your time and money!!!
If you are spending time and money on skincare and neglecting your skin of sunscreen, all that effort might as well be wasted. The majority of the aging process is due to UVB and UVA ray sun exposure, and you can be exposed even when you're inside or on a cloudy day. Aside from nurturing healthy skin, you’re also able to prevent disease and cancers that are associated with high UVA and UBA exposure.
Ditch your Chemical Suncreen right now! 🤢
They allow our skin to absorb the sun's rays - YIKES. The majority of the chemical sunscreens in your local drugstore also contain oxybenzone (affects hormones and allergies in humans and causes coral bleaching), octinoxate, octisalate, homosalate, octocrylene, and avobenzone. Many of these are endocrine disruptors, which are harmful and interfere with your hormones when consumed in small doses - affecting reproductive systems to allergies.
Mineral sunscreen should be your skin's best friend 👯
For it to be a mineral sunscreen, the main active mineral ingredient must be zinc oxide or/and titanium dioxide. Unlike chemical sunscreens that absorb the sun's rays, mineral sunscreens sit on top of your skin and act as a mirror that reflects UV rays from damaging skin cells. That's what good sunscreen should be doing.
☀️not all mineral sunscreens are ‘clean’ however so still be aware of their ingredient list.
These are the ones I love and have tried (both budget friendly & high-end options). I only have good things to say 💁🏻♀️ They all offer broad-spectrum protection and mineral based. I am a total Baby Coola fan although it leaves a light white caste. You can get them from The Detox Market if you are in Toronto.
